What can you discover when you slow down and really explore a color?

Each session of The Color Journal is a deep dive into one color concept. Rather than simply learning color theory, we’ll experiment with it through painting, Gelli printing, collage, mark making, and art journaling.

We’ll begin by exploring our color through acrylic paint—mixing, comparing, and creating swatches to discover the many possibilities within a single color family. Then we’ll use those discoveries to create painted papers and Gelli prints, collecting layers of color, texture, and pattern to use in our journals.

From there, we’ll play with collage, found images, marks, textures, and whatever else inspires us to build expressive art journal pages.

This session will explore complementary colors—discovering just how much we can do with two colors!

No previous art journaling experience is necessary. Come ready to experiment, play, and see where the color takes you.

All supplies are provided, except a journal. Don't worry about this for the first class!

Classes are held at my studio: 24 Main Street, Second Floor Montpelier, VT

Please note: The studio is located on the second floor and is not handicapped accessible.
