Have you taken Brave Beginner before? You’re absolutely welcome here! This is a new four-week exploration that builds on the basics we’ve already covered, with a deeper focus on color, mixing, and discovering what acrylic paint can do.

And if you've never taken a painting class before, you're welcome too. We'll start with the fundamentals and experiment together.

Brave Beginner is a relaxed, playful introduction to acrylic painting for people who are new to painting—or who want to build confidence with the basics. We'll spend four weeks exploring what acrylic paint can do and discovering just how much is possible with three colors.

We'll learn how to mix colors and explore tints, shades, saturation, value, warm and cool colors, and complementary colors. We'll experiment with brushes, layers, texture, and different ways of applying paint while creating small studies and playful pieces along the way.

You don't need any previous painting experience—just curiosity and a willingness to be a little brave.

We'll explore:

• The basics of working with acrylic paint

• How to mix and modify colors

• Tints, shades, tones & value

• Warm and cool colors

• Complementary colors and how they interact

• Saturated and muted colors

• How to develop your own color sense through experimentation

No experience necessary. All supplies are included.
