Come escape with me into the wonderful world of ART. It's hard not to sink too low in the month of February when you live on the East Coast. It's been like the groundhog day of grey days. When that sun comes out, man what a gift! I saw a woman last week sitting in her garage in a lounge chair soaking up the sweet sunshine trying to stay out of the cold wind. I knew exactly how she felt in that moment, grateful.
What is it about us East Coasters? I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts. Brighten my day.
I have been working A LOT in paynes grey, pink, light blue all those soft beautiful winter colors.
If you would like to see these paintings in person they will be on display at Art Etc. in Northfield, VT for the month of February. The opening is this Friday (7th) from 5-7 pm please stop by if you are in the neighborhood and looking for something fun to do! The gallery offers beautifully hand crafted art and goods from local vermonters. I am completely obsessed with a hand lotion I purchased there this week by Hampshire Hill Homestead. For those of you that don't know, I live on Hampshire Hill! It's my neighbor up the street, the one with the llama, that makes this delicious lotion. Oh yeah, and her son is my son's assistant dance teacher!! Small town, USA. I'd give you a link to her product but she doesn't have one. Looks like the only way you could get this amazing hand lotion would be to go visit the gallery this month.
This Friday from 4-8 pm is also Art Walk in Montpelier, VT. The Studio @ 24 Main Street will be open and my dear friend and fellow artist Neha Shukla will be there with her exquisitely detailed tissue paper/ink/graphite collages. You can check out her instagram here to get a glimpse of her delightful creations. I will be joining the crew after my opening and will be forever grateful to any that stop by for a glass of vino with me at either location!
PAINT PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT
People have asked so I decided to deliver. I will be offering my first Adult and Kiddo paint party Valentine's Day Weekend. I will also offer an Adults Only Paint Party (that sounds a lot sassier than I want it too). See below for details and contact me if you are interested in attending one.
I will instruct you step by step to create your own original piece of art similar to the one to the left.
